Thinking Architecture
— For Coexistence Between People and Technology —
Concept
Completed in 1992, the YKK AP M&E Center, designed by Roy Fleetwood and Kenji Sugimura, is YKK AP’s core site.
This architecture, which embraces the concept of "harmony between humans and technology," treats structural elements and fixtures, which are typically concealed, as functional beauty, actively integrating them into the spatial design.
The 45-meter-span glass roof and exposed joints, of which even the smallest details are visible, showcase the inherent beauty of advanced technology.
This spatial configuration, which brings technology into focus, not only conveys the reliability of the products, but also serves to stimulate the creative sensibilities of everyone working here.
