About YKK AP

Since 1934, when YKK's founder Tadao Yoshida began processing and selling fasteners, the YKK Group has developed its business by creating new value in fasteners through the establishment of an integrated production system and overseas expansion. In 1959, YKK began operations in aluminum melting and extrusion, which eventually evolved into the current AP Business^*1.
Since FY2021, with YKK’s Fastening Business and YKK AP’s AP Business forming the core of our operations, we have worked as a corporate group that shares the YKK philosophy ― CYCLE OF GOODNESS^® and the Management Principle ― "YKK seeks corporate value of higher significance." Upholding these common values and principles, we have enhanced our business competitiveness by implementing management structures optimized for each business.
On March 31, 2026, Panasonic Housing Solutions Co., Ltd., which operates a housing equipment and construction materials business, joined the YKK Group, marking the start of business operations within a new organizational structure centered on the Fastening, AP, and HS^*2 businesses. By combining the strengths of YKK AP and Panasonic Housing Solutions, we will generate synergies and further enhance our business competitiveness.
