One of YKK AP’s materiality (priority issues) to drive sustainable growth is a “resilient business foundation.” The chief risk management officer (CRO) serves a leading role as the Crisis Management Committee and others establish and operate regulations to strengthen its risk management structure and build a governance structure for emergencies. The company is enhancing its resilience by stepping up collaboration between the committee and divisions, preparing business continuity plans (BCPs) during normal times, and smoothly operating these plans when crises occur.

YKK AP’s Japanese and overseas bases have completed BCPs so they are ready for disasters and risks, and are conducting annual disaster drills to increase the effectiveness of these plans. In FY2022, the company revised and updated its Business Continuity Management (BCM) Code for prompt BCP execution, and it is also creating and operating IT-BCPs to tackle the serious risk of cyber-attacks as part of its IT security management, including domestic and overseas affiliated companies.

The company’s social contribution efforts include donating money after the large-scale flooding caused by rain in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture (where the Tohoku Plant is located) in July 2022.

To recognize these initiatives, YKK AP has been certified as a business operator that meets the Resilience Certification requirements for Business Continuity and Social Contributions.

YKK AP will continue strengthening its risk management structure for normal times and working to enable swifter responses to crises to build a resilient business foundation.
