"Let’s make something new."
It all started with the aspirations
of a group of young engineers.

Back in those days, when the idea of making windows out of aluminum was unthinkable in Japan, the roots of YKK AP’s Architectural Products Business began with a chance encounter.
Here at the YKK AP Technology Museum, you can learn all about the challenges faced by our passionate engineers in their pursuit of monozukuri and the evolution of technology.

A technology exhibition
that goes to the heart of
"monozukuri"

This exhibition explains in detail the technology behind the windows that we use without a second thought every day.
There are also a number of impressive equipment exhibits on display, including an aluminum extruder and the latest assembly robots, which continue to support production today.

A building with historical value
that brings together old and new.

Built in 1959, the YKK AP Technology Museum is housed in a former aluminum melting and extrusion plant that served as the starting point for our Architectural Products Business.
The renovation has made use of the original gabled roof.
Many parts of the building, such as the iron windows and doors, have been left intact, evoking memories of the past even amid modernity.
